Building a Culture of Trust Since 2016

The San Carlos Business Networking Group (SCBNG) began in 2016 with a simple idea: local businesses thrive when they build relationships based on trust, not transactions. What started as a handful of professionals gathering to share referrals has grown into one of the Peninsula’s most respected networking communities.

From the very beginning, SCBNG stood out with its “No Dues—Just Participation” model. Instead of charging membership fees, we measure value through active engagement. Every member contributes by showing up, sharing referrals, and investing in the success of the group. That accountability-first approach has remained a core part of our identity.

Rising Stronger After the Chamber Closure

In 2020, when the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, SCBNG faced a turning point. Many groups dissolved during this period—but our members chose a different path. The relationships we had built were strong enough to carry us forward independently.

Rather than shrinking, we grew. Members leaned on each other during uncertain times, proving that SCBNG was more than just a meeting schedule—it was a trusted support system. That resilience set the tone for the years that followed and continues to guide us today.

A Proven Track Record of Growth

Since those early days, SCBNG has become a hub for professionals across San Carlos and the broader Midpeninsula. Founding members, including our longtime President Vivienne Kelvin, remain active nearly a decade later—evidence of the real, measurable value this group provides.

With every meeting, one-on-one, and referral, we’ve built a legacy of collaboration that supports businesses of all sizes. From solo entrepreneurs to established firms, our members know that SCBNG is a place where relationships drive results.
